Asia: the land, the men, the gods

After receiving a large donation of more than 3.000 items of Asian art from the collector and former diplomat Fausto Godoy, MON (Museu Oscar Niemeyer) commissioned the design of the collection’s inaugural exhibition. Consisting of more than 300 pieces distributed on 600 square meters, the exhibition planning and execution showed up as a huge challenge due to its schedule. Between the invitation to the project and the inauguration, only three months passed. With several millennial pieces, many exhibition displays had to be made accordingly with security and conservation standards. During the project, I was mainly responsible for the exhibition design and execution follow-up. After two years on view, the exhibition became the first permanent exhibition to be held in one of MON's main exhibition spaces.
